Our curriculum encompasses the Early Years Learning Framework and includes the interactions, experiences and routines that children and families experience in our environment. Our curriculum encourages children to be actively involved in the learning process and to participate in a variety of experiences both planned and unplanned. We aim to foster children’s learning by involving children, families, educators and the wider community in the decision making process through knowledge of shared perspectives.
The curriculum environment is designed to foster children’s learning and development through our educators’ pedagogy (curriculum decision making, teaching and learning, nurturing relationships) with children and families. Bright Beginnings educators use an ongoing cycle of planning that underpins our educational program in both a planned and spontaneous environment. This includes observing, documenting, planning and evaluating children’s learning.
Assessment of the program in meeting learning outcomes for children and families is conducted to ensure that good quality care and education are provided and maintained. Educator’s also use reflective practices a way to experiment with new ideas, teaching and learning. Changes to our practices, environments and program will be made to reflect the voices of children, families, educators and community input.
Bright Beginnings aims to create an environment both indoor and outdoor that is natural, inviting, inclusive and rich in possibilities. We strive to create an environment that reflects the Bright Beginnings local community, educators, families and children who come here. We set up experiences using a variety of media to empower children to make choices, promote relationships and imagination through play.
We believe the physical setting affects the behaviour and development of the people, both children and adults who live and work in it. We add to the environment in ways that enrich children’s experiences and invite families to participate in creating exciting spaces for children that includes cultural diversity, indigenous education and sustainable practices.
Educators facilitate learning about children’s growing respect for the environment by giving careful consideration to children’s environments indoors and outdoors. We have a commitment to sustainability and conservation as well as the natural environment.
Bright Beginnings are committed to ensuring children’s health and safety and are focused on ensuring that the physical environment provides a rich and diverse range of experiences that promote children’s learning and development.
